ISO 9000

FAQs

  • What is ISO 9000?
    • The ISO 9000 family of standards represents an international consensus on good management practices with the aim of ensuring that the organization can time and time again deliver the product or services that meet the client's quality requirements. These good practices have been distilled into a set of standardized requirements for a quality management system, regardless of what your organization does, its size, or whether it's in the private, or public sector.
  • Why should my organization implement ISO 9000?
    • To keep customers - and to keep them satisfied - your product (which may, in fact, be a service) needs to meet their requirements.
    • ISO 9000 provides a tried and tested framework for taking a systematic approach to managing your business processes (your organization's activities) so that they consistently turn out product conforming to the customer's expectations. And that means consistently happy customers!
  • What are the benefits of implementing ISO 9000?
    • The actual benefits experienced by each organization vary depending on a number of factors, including complexity of processes, maturity of the system, commitment from the management, awareness of staff...etc.
  • We want to get started with the ISO 9000, where can we obtain a copy of the standards?
    • Copies of the standards may be purchased from Information Centre of STAMEQ, or contact us (admin@pnq.com.vn).
  • What are the main steps in implementing ISO 9000?
  • How long does an ISO 9000 project take?
    • This depends on the complexity of processes, size of the organization, the maturity of management culture, commitment from the management and awareness of staff.
  • How much does an ISO 9000 project cost?
    • This again depends on the complexity of processes, size of the organization.  For reference, costs of this project mainly related to: consultancy fee, certification fee.  Please contact us for a FREE rough estimate on case by case basis.
  • How will a small organization be able to adapt the requirements of ISO 9001?  What flexibility will be allowed?
    • The requirements of ISO 9001 are applicable to small, medium, and large organizations alike.  ISO 9001:2000 provides some flexibility, through clause 1.2 “Application”, on the exclusion of certain requirements for specific processes that may not be performed by the organization.
    • If, for example, the nature of your products does not require you to perform design activities, or if your product is provided on the basis of established design, you could discuss and justify the exclusion of these requirements with your certification/registration body. However, individual organizations will still need to be able demonstrate their capability to meet customer and applicable statutory or regulatory requirements for their products, and will need to consider this when determining the complexity of their quality management systems.
